Elisabeth Forster is a lecturer in Chinese history at the University of Southampton, UK. She wrote her PhD on the New Culture Movement. Her current research project explores China’s claim in the twentieth century to be a peaceful nation and the way this intersects with philosophical theories about just and unjust wars.
