Johan Elverskog is Dedman Family Distinguished Professor, Professor of Religious Studies, and, by courtesy, Professor of History at Southern Methodist University. He has published widely on the history of Buddhism across Asia and is the author and editor of 11 books and numerous articles. His current projects include A Barbarian History of China and The Fathers and Sons of Chinggis Khan. In 2025–26 he will be a Fellow at the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study.
