Maghiel van Crevel is Professor of Chinese Language and Literature at Leiden University and a specialist in contemporary poetry. His research highlights the synergy of textual criticism with ethnographic fieldwork. His current book project is on China’s battler poetry (打工诗歌). At Leiden University Libraries, he has built a collection of unofficial poetry from China that is freely accessible online.
