May was at the China Desk for the Asia Monitor Resource Centre (AMRC) for nine years. In this role, she was one of the key people to develop an informal network of labour NGOs in Mainland China in the late nineties. In
2006, she started to work with Globalization Monitor, focusing on extensive supply chain research and action and using brands and Corporate Social Responsibility as leverage to support labour rights.
