Mengzhu An received her PhD in Anthropology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research examines the early intervention industry, the moral politics of disability care, the neurodiversity movement, and the ‘psycho-boom’ in China. She is passionate about public anthropology and anthropological pedagogy. Her work has appeared in China Perspectives, Medical Anthropology, Feminist Anthropology, and Teaching Anthropology. Her current project focuses on social robots and emotional AI in autism therapies.
