Tim Oakes is Professor of Geography and Director of the Center for Asian Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. He is co-editor, most recently, of Making Cultural Cities in Asia: Mobility, Assemblage, and the Politics of Aspirational Urbanism (Routledge 2016), and guest-editor of ‘Making cultural cities in China: governance, state-building, and precarious creativity’ in Environment and Planning A: Economy and Space (2018).
