Malcom THOMPSON is a historian of China based in Vancouver, Canada. He holds a PhD from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and has taught there and at the University of Toronto. He has held postdoctoral fellowships at the Institute of Asian Research at UBC and at the Fairbank Center, Harvard University.
