Mujun Zhou is an Associate Professor of sociology at Zhejiang University. In the past decade, her research has focused on political culture and social change, with particular attention to civil society, the public sphere, and social movements in China. Her work has appeared in journals such as Politics & Society, Social Science History, and China Quarterly. She is now turning to a new project on the culture and community of hip-hop dance in China, examining the country as a distinctive case in the global diffusion of African diasporic aesthetics.
