Xumeng Xie is a Lecturer in Chinese Studies and Digital Cultures at Queen Mary University of London. Her research employs feminist and digital ethnographic methodologies to explore young people’s vernacular uses of digital media, particularly in the context of mainland China. She has a keen interest in feminist and queer theory, affect theory, and critical theories of digital media. Xumeng is currently working on her first book, which focuses on the ordinary voices of and everyday participation in digital feminism in China following the Chinese #MeToo movement.
