Selina Kötter did her undergraduate and MA studies at Beijing Foreign Studies University and Goethe University Frankfurt. She works at Goethe University Frankfurt as a research assistant and lecturer, and is writing her PhD dissertation on the depiction of the Qing Dynasty in Chinese television dramas, with a special focus on the Manchu ethnicity and language. She is particularly interested in female perspectives past and present and how they relate to social life and entertainment media.
